St. Luke's pupils and parents attended a special assembly this November to remember those victims of war past and present. They learnt about the origins of the red poppy and the reasons we wear it. With poetry and readings from Y6 children, the sounding of 'The Last Post' and a two minute silence, the event was both informative and sombre.

Afterwards, a small group of Y6 pupils attended the War Memorial at the old St. Luke's Church and laid a wreath and cross in remembrance.
